What this service involves
Weeds are taken out by hand and by hoe, roots included wherever possible, rather than simply snapped off at the surface. Perennial offenders like bindweed, couch grass and dandelion need lifting properly, and we work through beds section by section instead of only pulling what shows most.
Once beds are clear we re-cut the edge between lawn and border so the line is sharp, then mulch where it helps — suppressing the next flush of weeds, holding moisture in sandy coastal soil and giving planting a dark, even backdrop. Established plants are deadheaded, tied in or lightly cut back as the season requires.
Border maintenance works best as a rhythm rather than a rescue. Short, regular visits through spring and summer keep beds under control with far less effort than clearing a bed that has been left for a full season.
